- GEHAMS Website - Private Pages accessibility -

Please Read

The first step ....... is gaining access to the Clubs PRIVATE Pages on the GEHAMS website

NOTE - you have to be an active member of GEHAMS to access this section...
the Club Membership Manager will send an invite email to get hings started..
look for an Email "GEHAMS gave you private page access" that was sent from donotreply@secureserver.net". Check your SPAM Mail just in case.....
Once you open this email.... accept the invite from the GEHAMS Website and it will ask you to create an password to access the GEHAMS Members Only Page.
Click on the "Create a password" link and enter a unique password that has at least 8-characters........[ Please Note ] Write this down and keep it in a secure place as we do not have access to or keep your password in case you forget it ............To recover it...... You'll have to reset it on the log in pop up box......
after all that, you will then be able to access the GEHAMS Members Only Pages.
note: up in the top right side corner of the Menu bar is a little man icon... use this for logging into or logging out of the Private Page areas..

....... YouTube has changed it's viewing policies so we have moved over to VIMEO which is less trouble..

BUT ....To be able to view regular & private video/s on YouTube. That comes in Step #2 ......... see below

Now for Step #2.

Now for Step #3

This step is necessary so that you can view the members only Private videos, which are on our YouTube channel GEHAMS Model Train Club

You will be receiving an email from YouTube which is titled "Invitation to access GEHAMS Model Train Club", from "noreply@youtube. com". Check your SPAM Mail just in case.....

Once you open the email ... click the blue box that says "ACCEPT INVITATION". That will probably take you to YouTube. Exit out of YouTube, and....................

Now for Step #3

Go back to the GEHAMS web page at www.gehams.club, and click on the "Members Only Info" in the MENU bar directly under the blue bar that says "Golden Empire Historical And Modeling Society is a 501-c3 non profit organization".

Then click on Videos & Clinics - pw req
You should then see " ~~~~~ CLINIC ~~~~~ " with a grey video boxed below the text with an white arrow with a red border in the center of it.(when you mouse over it, that is)...
Now click on that white arrow with a red border you "should" FINALLY be able to view the private video which is of the clinic that Charlie Slater and Bill Vaughn presented at the clubhouse, on , on Saturday, September 19.

And now Step #4

this is the issue I warned you about.

To be able to send out the YouTube invite for you to view the GEHAMS Model Train Club private videos, your email must be linked/sync'd to Google, YouTube notifies us if you're linked/sync'd to it not linked/sync'd.....which we have already found a couple of members are not... so you will not receive an invite from YouTube.
You have to remember that YouTube is owned by Google. Yes, you can view videos without linking your email to Google---but not the private videos. You will have to link your email to Google in order to view the private video link on the GEHAMS Members Only page.

That' it.... This has been an "On The Job Training" process and we are learning as we go forward with this, so there is bound to be some issues. It was a real learning experience to set up a private video and next time I'll do something that ain't as painful--like a Covid-19 nasal test or Colonoscopy!

Q: But can't the videos be posted to the web site itself.

A: Yes, they can, but you probably wouldn't want to pay for that option!

Q: Is there another option?

A: yes the free option to do videos is to go thru Godaddy's requirements
