GEHAMS Student Member, Connor Bergquist, is learning how to 3D print, so I was able to snag him into 3D printing the Bakersfield Sign for the GEHAMS N Sale layout. I finally got around to painting it and the sign is now situated on the GEHAMS N scale layout. Not the best paint job, but like us N scalers say, "It will look just fine from 3-feet away!" Now just need to get some 3D printed N scale figures of Buck Owens and Dwight Yokam!
GEHAMS HO Director, Mike Cronin, is putting together a 3’ x 6’ N scale layout for those that want to learn how to do model railroading scenery. Mike is going to get the groundwork started by getting all the track in place, then anyone wanting to learn how to do model railroading scenery is more than welcomed to try their hand at it. Drop on by the GEHAMS 2ndfloor (N scale floor) on any Saturday, 10 AM – 1PM and check it out.
The next phase of the GEHAMS N Scale layout signal project is installing signals from East Tehachapi to the Warren Double Crossover, just west of Mojave. In order for the signals to communicate with the layout, this Signal Driver you see here, is necessary for the signals to operate correctly. It’s ready to be tested on the test bench, to make sure everything works, before it is installed on the N scale layout.
